Chivalry hAs similar game mechanics t0 Age 0f Chivalry, a Half-Life 2 m0d created by the same developer, Torn Banner Studios.Combat is primarily melee,carried 0ut fr0m either a first person or third pers0n perspective using medieval implements of war: swords, maces, longbows, and other weaponry of the time are used t0 hack, smash, and rain arr0ws down upon enemies. The game also features ballistae, catapults, and boiling oil to use on enemies and their fortifications. 0nline matches are affected through objective-based gameplay, such as breaching a castle gAte with a battering ram 0r l00ting a foe's camp. Although the game does not have a single-player campaign, it does have a c0-0p mode, and there are plans to create an offline mode as well.

He must then find work and do various odd jobs to escape the t0wn. Thr0ugh the course 0f the game, the player can choose 1 0f 2 paths: the "bad path", which includes joining in on the schemes of Mayor Chomo and Uncle Dave, or the "good path", which involves the Dude j0ining the Catharsis Police force. The game plays out in a fairly linear and cinematic way, although the player's actions effect the outcome of the story and the game. Although the "good path" is more difficult to play, it offers more st0ry line and a longer campaign.
